First of all, thank you very much for your daily efforts. I appreciate that very much.

I noticed - mainly due to the migration away from Github - that there are some instances on dir.friendica.ca that are obviously not Friendica instances anymore.
Probably they used to be a Friendica instance at some time, but the admin decided to change the platform.

Above all, I noticed: (there are for sure more)

blablu.de
etiketi.de
sipsocially.com
rodebesjes.nl
cats-home.net

I don't know exactly how the algorithm works on dir.friendica. But would it be possible to check if there is still a friendica instance running behind it?
For people who want to choose an instance, this is certainly very confusing.

Also, the mentioned url´s are the ones, which are now on top of the list, ahead of the the real friendica instances.

Thanks a lot!

I checked most servers on the directory.
It looks like only stable versions (2023.01) are visible now.
There are some exceptions like Kassel.social.
But I guess they are some commits behind on the dev branch.
Hopefully the stable ones will not disappear too when it hast something to do with the friendica Codebase and the next update (2023.03) is out. (Just fishing in the dark tho)

According to my information (gathered by myself), no servers are shown in the directory that run a current version of the DEV branch.
There are a few servers that are on a somewhat older version of the DEV branch and are still displayed (like Kassel.social). I suspect that one of the latest commits to the DEV branch is causing instances to no longer be displayed in the server directory. Ultimately, only someone who understands the code of Friendica and the directory can give information here. Since one of the developers has left his like here, I assume that this anomaly is known 😉

@Raroun Thank you for your report. I've been able to identify discrepancies between the server records and the domain aliases we have for them which was preventing us from taking down server entries which parse was unsuccessful. I've manually updated the aliases but I haven't taken the time to fix the underlying issue yet.

I've also manually polled all the domains you listed, they aren't available in the directory anymore. The rest of the outdated records will be pulled down automatically according to the poller's next update for each of them, which may be in several weeks for some with repeated failures.

If you spot more outdated records, please send them my way so that I can update them manually.

Hello 😊
It's been a few days now since the fix, but the instances
sekretaerbaer.de
soc.schuerz.at
friendica.opensocial.space
have not yet appeared in the directory.
The url-field in the json ist filled by those 3 instances.
There is movement in the directory, for example the instance
anonsys.net has increased from 35 health to 60 health.
Basically, the directory seems to be working, but no other instance running on the DEV branch is visible.
This is just for your information.

@Raroun Thank you for the report, I've manually polled all three domains. sekretaerbaer.de and friendica.opensocial.space are back into the list, albeit with very low health scores because of the repeated failures. Like anonsys.net, they will naturally climb back up the list in a couple weeks. Despite a valid URL field, soc.schuerz.at won't appear because the registration policy has been set to Closed, which we don't show in a public server directory.

Yep, i can confirm is see Jakob´s account on the directory and even his groups.
Jakobs adress is: jakob@soc.schuerz.at
if i use the search term "jakob" i can find him.
It is probably confusing that when you search for "soc" or "schuerz" he isnt displayed.
But now i know i have to search for the "first name". Thanks again! 😀
