I know The question has been asked many times, but unfortunately I can not find it again.
I would like to go deeper into the Friendica code, but don't really know how.

I have thought about the following:

I set up another VPS (only for developing reasons), install Friendica there, php 8.0 and everything necessary, including xdebug.

I would then try to go a little deeper with PHP Storm and remote debugging (via ssh).

Is there anything against it, or is the approach rather lousy? how do the pros handle it?
