This post can reach not only #Mastodon & the #Fediverse, but beyond like #Bluesky. How far can it go?

I have built a tool to aggregate, with what software and from which instance it is boosted (or faved). Please share far, to show where you're seeing this.

#SocialMedia #Sharkey #Akkoma #Firefish

Now mastodon.social in front, #Bluesky in second. I do not yet see my boost from #Bookwyrm, but #Pixelfed is now there too (even without a picture) 😉

#Mastodon as a whole clearly dominating again.

Also #Akkoma #Misskey #Sharkey and #Firefish

#Fediverse

@isAutonomous Bridgy is a single PDS (not run by Bluesky) which in turn feeds it to all the other ATProtocol PDS instances, either directly or through the relay firehose.

Here’s the list of self-hosted PDS instances blue.mackuba.eu/directory/pdse…

(technically Bluesky runs 20 PDS instances with ~300K users each, but that’s mostly not directly visible)

From now 243 boosts I see 238 via the API and that's their composition. Now there are two #Mastodon instances in front, next is #Bluesky thanks to the bridge.

The post was shared via at least eleven different softwares, but there are some, I don't see – like #Bookwyrm for example. The second graph shows also how Mastodon dominates and functions as legend for the colors.

makes sense Bookwyrm isn't visible because it basically tries to limit things so that you don't really subscribe to a full timeline from anyone who is not using Bookwyrm so most people would not see any top level posts from Mastodon there.

This limitation isn't really airtight though, if you know the correct url you can subscribe to a mastodon account and see everything from it on that platform.

If this post is boosted by an account on #Bluesky, who is not bridged via #BridgyFed, the API of #Mastodon can't see it. So I counted them manually and the number of shares on #Bluesky grew by about half. In the process I found one share on #GoToSocial that I didn't see and I added my share from #Bookwyrm 😉

Together NotMastodon reaches almost 20 % of the shares, but mastodon.social stays the biggest single instance.

I also now know, why the post can't be shared on #Lemmy. Should I try again?

soc0.outrnat.nl I see your Misskey "best part of" :butterfedy1: fediverse wager and I add one Mitra server, best part of :butterfedy2: fedi.

needless to say i can see your post @mho

what :butterfedyC: fedi really needs is a way to decentralize content delivery, I'd love to see a :butterfedyA: fediverse client that allows me to host images and video, possibly over a privacy respecting protocol like i2p, the media that i like and boost.... is anyone thinking about anything like this?
